Our take
The middle path in the DG line: 142 pieces over roughly eighteen hours, with fabric bedding and curtains for texture and no army of identical books or petals to grind through. The lattice window is the centrepiece and backlights well. Skip it if you want a busy scene — it's a plain bedroom at heart. Note too that customs rules strip glue, pigment and batteries from international packages, so source coin cells and adhesive yourself.
We have not built this kit. This entry is based on the manufacturer's published specifications and on reports from builders who have finished it — not on a build of our own. See how we review.
What works
- 142 pieces over roughly 18h is a genuine mid-length build without the hundreds of identical books or paper petals that bog down the flower and library kits
- The large lattice window is the design centrepiece and backlights well with the included LED
- Fabric elements - patterned bed, curtains, soft furnishings - add texture that the all-wood kits lack
- Step-by-step instructions ship in English per the official spec
- Dressing mirror, wall paintings, loaded bookshelf and vase of flowers give it more props than the piece count suggests
What to watch for
- Glue, pigment and batteries are all stripped from international packages under customs policy - you need to buy CR2032 cells and adhesive separately
- Fewer showpiece props than the shop-themed kits; it is fundamentally a plain bedroom scene
- The official rolife.robotime.com page publishes no scale and no difficulty rating, and retailers disagree (1:18 vs 1:24)
- Frequently listed as out of stock across official and retail channels
